Our Story

A garden that grew from a simple idea

It started with flowering plants and the butterflies that followed them. What opened in December 2025 as a small sanctuary in Obo-ob has become a place where families, students, and curious visitors come to see butterflies up close — not behind glass, but flying freely around you.

The garden is home to 21 butterfly species, all supported by native host plants and nectar flowers grown without pesticides. It's not a big place. But it doesn't need to be. The butterflies come because the conditions are right, and that's the whole point.

We're here to show that even a small patch of land, cared for properly, can support biodiversity and help pollinators thrive. Punta lang mo diri, makita ninyo.

What to See

Walk through, don't rush

The garden is meant to be taken slowly. Here's what you'll find.

Butterfly Encounters

Step into the garden and they're just... there. Landing on flowers, drifting past you. Twenty-one species, all free-flying. No cages.

The Life Cycle

Eggs on the underside of leaves. Fat caterpillars munching through host plants. Chrysalises hanging still until the day they split open. You can see all of it here.

Photography

Bring a phone, bring a macro lens, bring whatever. Mornings are best — the butterflies are more active and the light comes in at a good angle.

Conservation

No pesticides, native plants only, and a focus on species that belong here. The staff can explain what grows where and why it matters. Just ask.
